Ooblets, slice of life – Still Brewing
What Do We Know So Far?
Who are behind Ooblets?
The team behind Ooblets are Glumberland. They are handling both development and publishing duties. However, additional publishing assistance is being provided by Double Fine Studios.
What kind of game will it be?
Ooblets is heavily inspired by Harvest Moon, Stardew Valley, Animal Crossing, and Pokemon. These titles would place the game fairly neatly into the Slice of Life-Simulation genre. With a little monster collecting action to boot. There is a pokemon battle like aspect to the game, however, it will be dance battles.
Where will we find it?
Glumberland are looking to release the game on both PC and console. The game is looking to be an Epic Store Exclusive title (which garnered some controversy). This means that Steam users will have to wait a bit longer. Xbox is so far the only console confirmed, however, the team has embraced the possibility of porting if the launch is successful enough.
When can we get it?
Currently, there is no release date announced for the game. While the team are working hard on completing it, Glumberland is really just two people and a few freelancers. Dev logs are available and updated fairly consistently so if you’re keeping an eye out you shouldn’t miss the release date. Chances are we’ll also run a news piece when more information is available so check back with us for more information.
More info required!
Ooblets is more than just a game, it is a dream project for its creative team. Rebecca (programming and art) and Ben (game design and writing) are working hard to create their perfect amalgam of the games they love and adding their own flavor.
Much like Harvest Moon, Stardew Valley, and even the recently covered Cloud Meadow. The game begins by giving you a farm, from there it’s up to you, likely a short tutorial will give you the basics of farming, collecting monsters and dance battles. But, from there you’ll likely be able to play your way at your pace.
The visual style the team has opted for is absolutely adorable (and would fit perfectly on the Nintendo Switch). And it is incredibly endearing already.
We here at Sip Read Repeat hope to bring you a full review when we can. Check back later and keep gaming and drinking (coffee).

Coffee of choice: I like the sweeter kinds, mixed with chocolate, coconut, caramel etc. but I won’t turn down a flat white or a straight black either.
