Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout – Still Brewing
What Do We Know So Far?
Who are behind Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout?
Fall Guys is developed by Mediatonic (the team behind Hatoful Boyfriend). Publishing duties, however, go to the prolific Devolver Digital.
What kind of game will it be?
Fall Guys falls (not sorry), somewhere between a Party Game and a Battle Royale. It’s essentially like Headsnatchers, Petoons Party, Jump Stars and the like, but instead of a small group of friends, it’s 100 probably strangers.
Where will we find it?
Fall Guys is looking to have a pretty limited release at this stage. So far it has been announced for both PC and PS4. No word on whether the other consoles have been ruled out or might possibly see a later port of the game. There’s also no word on cross-platform play at this stage either.
When can we get it?
While the game has been scheduled for 2020, no further details have been provided. You can wishlist it on Steam at the moment (link below). But both on the Steam page and the Playstation website have the release marked simply as 2020.
More info required!
Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is an interesting prospect. Taking the formula of the Battle Royale, large amounts of real people competing to be the last one standing. And merging it with Party Games styled obstacle courses where a group of friends fight to be the last one standing. It really seems like an obvious mix when you think about it. But from my knowledge, it seems Mediatonic might be the first to think about it.
From the information, we have seen so far in the images and trailers. Fall Guys will use a bright and almost candy-like art style. Actually it looks a lot like Headsnatchers, but the characters look more like jellybeans. It also seems like there will be a number of challenges for your jelly bean to try to survive. It looks a lot like a video game Wipeout at times. The game also mentions that challenges will alternate between team modes and free for alls. Which sounds like it will move things along in cutting down the number of entrants.
The fall guys are also customizable with things like pineapple and bunny hats. And quite frankly they are fairly adorable. Personally I’m not a fan of the battle royale genre, but I could certainly see myself enjoying Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout.

Coffee of choice: I like the sweeter kinds, mixed with chocolate, coconut, caramel etc. but I won’t turn down a flat white or a straight black either.
