6 Steam Indies on sale this week (Week 12 2020)

It’s a weird time at the moment with many major things occurring. Most prominent on peoples’ minds would be the Corona Virus. But, the world hasn’t ground to a halt yet and as such we have another 6 Steam Indies on Sale to talk about. Like most weeks the previous week’s list still has a few active offers but we’re focusing on a new list this time.

GOAT OF DUTY

6 Steam Indies GOAT OF DUTY

First up, we have to start this week’s list of 6 Steam Indies the potential GOAT (of this list). That’s right it’s the goat themed shooter GOAT OF DUTY. A fast-paced multiplayer twitch shooter developed by 34BigThings srl and published by Raiser Games. The game is probably pretty close to what you’d expect if you took a 3rd person arena shooter and blended it with Goat Simulator. The goats have a mechanical apparatus that allows them to wield weapons and then they blast each other into chunks of fresh goat meat. There are all the typical modes of play, free for all, team battles, gun deathmatch. However, they have also introduced the brand new Fus Ro Arena mode. In this mode, the goats will be armed with a device to amplify their bleats to push each other off the arena to certain death.

The game also has goat customizable options that can be unlocked as you play and win. Some of them are references to other games such as a Gordon Freeman costume.

There’s no better time to try and bleat your friends and strangers. Because it is currently 100% off. Yes, that means it is free! But there is no telling if it will stay that way forever, so best to get in now.

Deiland

6 Steam Indies Deiland

Up next in our list of 6 Steam Indies. We have Deiland developed by
Chibig and published by 101XP. Deiland is a single-player adventure RPG game. The game also has fishing, farming, and building tasks making it similar to a slice-of-life simulator as well. You play as the Little Prince and rule over your own little planet, developing it as you see fit. As you play neighboring planets will send merchants to trade with you as well as other random events. The game has over 100 quests and notes the laid-back relaxing quality they are going for with the gameplay. It also has a wonderful art style and fun character designs to boot. There is real heart put into the crafting of Deiland and it makes it seem well worth looking into.

And to seal the deal for anyone on the fence. The game is also 100% off just like GOAT OF DUTY. However, this freebie is only available until March 24th so grab it quick.

BIT.TRIP Presents… Runner2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien

BIT.TRIP Presents... Runner2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien

The title of this game is a bit unwieldy so I’ll just call it Runner2. Anyway, Runner2 is developed and published by Gaijin Games. And as you may be able to figure out from the title it’s a rhythm-based auto-runner game. Somewhat similar to EarthNight in the way your character moves by themselves. It’s up to you to try and avoid obstacles and collect items though. However, unlike EarthNight, Runner2 being a rhythm game runs on a predetermined course that you can learn. So as you play the levels you will eventually come to master them, and pulling off effortless perfect runs both looks and feels super cool. Plus the music is pretty great. Fans of the website may also remember that the hero Commander Video made our list of potential indie gaming mascots.

Going back to our usual major discount of 90% for this one (still substantial folks). Runner2 is on sale until April 1st (no fooling).

Koloro

Koloro

Koloro is a puzzle-platformer by Skoll Studios who both developed and self-published the game. Somewhat similar to the above Runner2, the game is akin to an auto-runner. However, Koloro has even more minimalistic controls. The hero of the game Kora is turned into a square and it seems to be an extra slippery one because it slides everywhere. But the square isn’t completely helpless as it retains the ability to jump and can even wall jump. Using a one-button control scheme you’ll have to navigate levels via only jumps and of course wall-jumps while avoiding pitfalls and obstacles. The adventure of the game is trying to rescue your sister, but once you do you’ll unlock hard mode for extra replayability. The game also has 50 custom levels created for a shared-screen co-op mode. Which again furthers the playtime.

Oh, and did I mention boss fights? Because Koloro has them too. I’m not 100% sure how they’d work but they sound pretty fun to try.

At 90% off until the 31st of March, all you need is one button (well two, first to add to cart and then to buy it…then maybe some more to actually checkout but you get what I was going for).

Night of the Blood Moon

6 Steam Indies Night of the Blood Moon

Night of the Blood Moon is next up on our list of 6 Steam Indies on sale. This one is developed by Tyler McDermott. But it’s not just solo-developed it’s also self-published too. It’s quite the achievement especially with the level of polish to the game (not to mention the difficulty). The game itself is a sort of twin-stick shooter rogue-like. You have all your usual rogue-like hallmarks. I’m talking about procedural level designs, permadeath/returning to the start each run, gradual upgrades, etc. And as usual, luck is a major factor in your success, as well as skill. It’s somewhat similar to games like Kelipot and Skul. However, where they are both side-scrollers NotBM is a top-down game with x and y-axis movement.

Both the art-style and the graphics, in general, are very fun. And the gameplay is both punishing and addictive. It’s easy to get lost in a loop of “just one more run”.

At 90% off until March 31st, now is a great time to try that one more run.

Super Slam Dunk Touchdown

6 Steam Indies Super Slam Dunk Touchdown

And lastly to round out our list of 6 steam indies. We have a game that will have you cheering Sports! Sports! Sports! or something. It’s Super Slam Dunk Touchdown by Tipping Goat LLC. Both development and publishing are handled by Tipping Goat. What is the game though? It’s a retro arcade-styled game that takes all the sports you know and love. NFL, Football (the European one), Basketball, Hockey, etc. and blends them all together. And this smoothie of sports comes to play. Assemble a team of pro athletes and use their unique strengths to score all the points and demolish the other team. Grab your baseball bat and hit the football right through the hoop for a touchdown. But remember, anything can happen including full team cartoon smoke fights and marching bands doing their thing in the middle of you doing yours.

It’s absolute insanity and naturally, it’s more fun with friends. So gear up your buddies and get ready.

At 90% until April 2nd this is a no-brainer. A simple hockey 1, hockey 2, hockey 3, 2-points, touchdown situation if I’ve ever seen one.
