6 Steam Indies on sale this week (Week 20 2020)

Has another week passed already? I feel like I was just writing last week’s list yesterday. But I guess not, I guess it has been a week. However, some of those games are still on sale which is worth checking out (especially the free game). But this list is about another set of games. Because it’s a new list of 6 Steam Indies on Sale.

Oozi: Earth Adventure

6 steam indies oozi: earth adventure

To begin this week’s 6 Steam Indies list we have Oozi: Earth Adventure. Not to be mistaken with Uzi the gun, Oozi the character kind of looks like what would happen if Rayman and his friend Globox were blended up. And seeing as the game is a classic 2D platformer the character comparison feels even more apt. The game is both developed and published by Awesome Games Studio. The studio behind a few games including Fury Unleashed. The game is pretty simple, you control Oozi, jump on enemies, and collect stars as you work your way through the levels. There are also 4 boss fights to look forward to. The game may be a retro platformer, but there are no punishing difficulties and it even has an easy mode designed for kids. However, there is still some challenge and harder modes for more seasoned gamers.

At 90% off until May 23rd Oozi: Earth Adventure is a perfect addition to the library if you have kids. Or even if you’re just young at heart.

Anna’s Quest

Who could have foreseen this happening? That’s right it’s another Daedalic Entertainment title. But there is a reason they are mainstays on our 6 Indie Games on Sale lists. Or rather two reasons. Firstly, they run sales a lot. Secondly, they make quality games. And of course, Anna’s Quest is no exception to this rule. Another point-and-click adventure title both developed and published by Daedalic. So if you’ve played their other games you know roughly what to expect. Naturally, the game follows a new character in a new setting and a new story. But the hallmarks of hand-drawn animation, quirky characters, and classic adventure game puzzle-solving mechanics are all present. A mixture of cute and grim, plus it’s fully voiced, which is usually a plus. In this case very much so.

At an unbelievable 90% off (what’s that? you believe it because that’s the discount on most of the games we feature?). But it’s only on sale for a couple of hours so you’ll need to get in quick to take advantage.

Demetrios – The BIG Cynical Adventure

Demetrios - The BIG Cynical Adventure gameplay

This is a good week for adventures and quests it seems. Demetrios – The BIG Cynical Adventure is another point-and-click adventure/visual novel game. However, this time it’s not by Daedalic, it’s actually both developed and published by COWCAT. And it’s their debut title. Filled with humor (a lot of toilet humor to be specific) and even including a bunch of mini-games. There are a lot of things to like about Demetrios as long as you don’t need a likable/relatable main character of course. As Bjorn Thonen our “hero’ is described by the developers as an idiot, a slob, and a drunk. Not to mention a bit of a perve just based on the trailer. Bjorn and his neighbor Sandra are forced to investigate a robbery at Bjorn’s antique store. But it might just lead them down a rabbit hole to some secrets they weren’t supposed to know.

At 90% off (there’s that magic number again), until May 26th, even if you’re a bit cynical you have to admit that’s a pretty nice deal.

Sumoman

6 Steam Indies Sumoman

Sumoman is a game developed and published by Tequilabyte Studio. What kind of game is it? Well, it’s a physics-based adventure puzzle platformer with time-control. So basically you’ll be controlling your Sumo and taking him through various strange levels. However, there is a story behind this, it seems the young Sumoman is returning from a Sumo contest. But all is not well, for some evil force has enchanted his friends into an eternal slumber. So naturally, Sumoman wastes no time in rushing off to save them. But as powerful and fearless as he is, he also can’t get up by himself if he falls over. However, as a professional Sumo he does have the ability to rewind time so you can afford to mess around and make mistakes. The game is weird, wacky, and pretty entertaining.

At 90% off until May 22nd you can’t afford to miss this one. Unless you’re a professional Sumo and can rewind time of course.

1954 Alcatraz

6 steam indies 1954 Alcatraz

1954 Alcatraz is yet another point-and-click adventure game. And it is once again developed and published by Daedalic Entertainment (at this stage it almost seems like we should retitle this list to Daedalic Entertainment games on sale). However, this time the game is co-developed by Irresponsible Games. Another feature that sets this game apart from the other Daedalic Games is the art style. As this game uses 3D models for the characters, making it feel a little like Grim Fandago. But instead of a grim reaper, the story follows a Bonnie and Clyde style gangster couple in an attempted escape from the infamous prison island Alcatraz. Which gives me shades of A Way Out. The decisions you make in the game will ultimately affect the outcome as you play both Joe and Christine. So you can choose to keep them as a couple or maybe some betrayal is in the books?

At 90% off until May 22nd you have time to make your decision. And if you grab the game then you’ll have plenty more decisions to make.

Robot Roller-Disco Derby Dodgeball

Robot Roller-Disco Derby Dodgeball gameplay

And to round out our list of 6 Steam Indies on Sale we have Robot Roller-Disco Derby Dodgeball. Beyond being a bit of tongue-twister it’s also a game developed by Erik Asmussen and published by 82 Apps. The game is sort of an FPS sports game, where the focus is on smooth movement and hitting your opponents with balls. However, that’s just one game mode. The game contains a staggering amount of objective-based game modes and even the ability to create your own. In essence, the game is a one-hit kill arena shooter. However, it also gives you the free-flowing (and neon glowing) movement of a parkour hoverboarding game. You’re guaranteed to have some crazy moments regardless of your skill level and that’s what gaming is all about.

At 90% off until May 19th you can even pick up a 90% off four-pack to guarantee some fun with friends.
