Soda Dungeon 2, fizzy fun – Still Brewing
What do we know so far?
Who are behind Soda Dungeon 2?
Soda Dungeon 2 is brought to us by the creators of the original Soda Dungeon. Developed by AN Productions and Poxpower, and once again published by Armor Games. Both AN Productions and Poxpower have only the Soda Dungeon franchise on Steam currently. They are also both one-person development teams with over a decade of experience in the field of game development. However, their publishers Armor Games have a catalog of amazing games including Adventure Pals.
What kind of game will it be?
Just like the first game, this new one will be an RPG with idle aspects. What that means is that you’ll select a team, manage upgrades and equipment. But when it comes to the actual fights you can choose to fight or have the characters run by the AI and luck. Early on in the game, you’ll want to focus a lot of attention on it. But as you progress and become stronger you’ll find the idle aspects take over more and more. Somewhat like Great Hero’s Beard in a way, however, with longer dungeons towards the end game and the optional ability to actually play hands-on.
Where will we find it?
The game is scheduled for release on Steam and mobile. At this stage, Android is confirmed. However, the first game was launched on Steam, Android, and iOS. There is still some time left for development (more on that in a second). So it is possible an iOS version will be announced before release or a possible port post-release. I’ll also mention that since the success of the Nintendo Switch and how well the game would suit the console if there were to be a console release that’s where I’d put my money.
When can we get it?
As mentioned above there is still some time before release. However, it’s not an overly long wait now. The current schedule puts the release of the game on July 9th. Making it just over a month now until the game is playable.

It’s not often we promote games focused on caffeinated beverages other than coffee. But being a huge fan of the first Soda Dungeon I have been tracking this sequel for a while now. And by a huge fan, I mean 505 hours of game time (A lot of it was idle time including leaving the game overnight only to find my team still kicking butt when I got back). The first game was filled with fun humor, a ton of items to collect, a feeling of constant improvement, and a decent amount to do. For the sequel, the developers are advising that all that good stuff will be back plus a bunch of new stuff the community was asking for. Including cross-play so you can swap between your PC, phone, and tablet if you want.
And that’s not all the awesome stuff from the first one. The new one will also be following the same free to play model. Everything in the game will be unlockable in-game via in-game resources. No loot boxes to worry about, and if you do want to kick some money into the game you speed things up a bit. The new game also contains some brand new features including a “soda script” so you influence your AI-controlled play. Offline “battle tokens” which can be redeemed for loot so even when you’re not playing at all you still kinda are. Crafting gear and building your home base. Plus much more content, quests, equipment, and more!
We here at Sip Read Repeat hope to bring you a full review when we can. Check back later and keep gaming and drinking (coffee and maybe some soda).

Coffee of choice: I like the sweeter kinds, mixed with chocolate, coconut, caramel etc. but I won’t turn down a flat white or a straight black either.
