6 Steam Indies on sale this week (Week 26 2020)
Well, we’ve done it guys, we’ve made it halfway through the year. It’s been rough (understatement). But that means there is still half a year to go. However, we still have games to get us through what comes next. And so without further rambling, here are 6 Steam Indies on Sale This Week.
Ok so maybe a little more rambling, last week’s sale has a few specials still running. On to this week’s sale for real!
Bloons TD 6
Starting off this list of 6 Steam Indies with a bang. The bang of a balloon (or bloon as they are known in developer Ninja Kiwi’s world. We have Bloons TD 6. If you love tower defense then you’re probably familiar with this series already. But even if you do know it, 6 throws in some new features to make it exciting even for a veteran of the franchise. Like most tower defense games the goal is simple you place towers (in this game monkeys) in strategic locations to stop an enemy (in this game bloons) from escaping. This latest game is big, bright and even has a co-op option so you can pop bloons with your buddies. Or even make some new ones.
Until July 10th you can pick this one up for 90% off, and to make sure no monkey tries to get in your way check out the link below.
Secret Exit Ltd. are the team behind our next game. Turbo Dismount is a game all about taking damage. That’s right taking not giving. Kind of like the most fun aspects of Burnout, but with a bunch of vehicles, interesting physics, and some rudimentary but nice visuals. In order to score maximum points, you need to set the scene. Choose a vehicle, pick obstacles, adjust the angles and of course select a pose. It’s a silly idea but arguably some of the best fun ideas are. Even if you have an older PC you should be able to enjoy this game. Gameplay may seem minimal, but once you understand what’s happening there is a lot to enjoy about this scrappy little game.
At 90% off until the 10th of July, this one is a great little pick up if you’re interested.
Super House of Dead Ninjas
The next game to grace this week’s 6 Steam Indies list is Super House of Dead Ninjas. Developed by Megadev and published by Adult Swim Games. The game is a fast-paced retro action game with rogue-like elements. Essentially you are a ninja and you must kill a bunch of enemies and drop down levels until you get to the bottom. But it’s not just enemies you’re fighting against, it’s time itself, as each level has a 30-second timer so you need to move swiftly like the ninja. And that’s not all, ninja magic will see the levels redesigned on every visit so there’s no real way to master a particular run other than just increasing your twitch response times in general. Have fun slicing up as many enemies as you can and clearing house.
At 90% off until July 10th, you’d have to be dead to not be at least interested. And if you are then the crimson ninja is probably coming for you. So pick up a copy of the game and learn their weaknesses.
Monaco: What’s Yours is Mine
Made by Pocketwatch Games Monaco: What’s Yours is Mine is a co-op or single-player heist game. Sort of like a top-down Hitman but for stealing, or Party Hard but heisting instead of murder. The game has an assortment of characters or “classes” each with their own unique skills that you can use to take what is yours. Enlist your team, case the joint, and then the heist begins in earnest. Act out your favorite heist films, but with a focus on the actual art of heisting. It’s been called one of the greatest co-op gaming experiences of all time. Does it live up to the hype? Well, you’ll have to grab the game and a couple of friends to see for yourself. There has also been a lot of talk about the soundtrack which is available in a special pack.
If you want to plan the perfect heist, then at 90% off until July 10th, Monaco is a steal.
Tooth and Tail
Another Pocketwatch Games project. Tooth and Tail is a real-time strategy game with an animal-based cast. Each of the four factions featured in the game has their own campaign in solo mode. And each level is procedurally generated so you’ll need to learn the systems and adapt in order to succeed. Beyond the story mode, there is also competitive multiplayer, both split-screen local and online multiplayer. The game also has a dark sense of humor, with the main conflict of the game being which creatures get to eat, and which get to be meat. You’ll need to build structures, recruit an army, and play aggressively to win, which most matches lasting between 5-12 minutes for truly blood-pumping action.
The game is 90% off until July 10th, and if you need Monaco as well you can pick them both up at 91% off in a bundle.
And the final game on this week’s 6 Steam Indies list is EDGE. Developed by Two Tribes and published by Two Tribes Publishing, much like Toki Tori a few weeks ago. This time they give you the whole game, but you’ll only need the EDGE (not sorry). EDGE is a puzzle-platformer where you control a cube you’ll need to learn the mechanics and work out shortcuts to collect all the prisms as fast as possible. And now the game is better than ever, with the current version being the extended game. 40 new levels have been added, for a total of 100 levels, and new music has been added as well. Plus more races against the mysterious evil “dark cube”. The art may be fairly simple. But the game looks nice and streamlined. And the gameplay is what you want.
At 90% off until July 10th the already cheap game becomes super affordable. Why not check it out?
And that’s it! Make sure you join us again next week when we cover another 6 Steam Indies on sale. But for now, stay safe, keep gaming, and drink coffee.
One half of the YouTube brother duo, The Game Bros with Sirhc and Ar0n, Chris is a lover of games, movies and other great things you can do from home.
Coffee of choice: I like the sweeter kinds, mixed with chocolate, coconut, caramel etc. but I won’t turn down a flat white or a straight black either.
